Lack Of Time Is Stopping You Reaching Your Goal
There’s just not enough hours in the day, right? You might have a full time job, or you’ve got kids to run around behind, or other commitments that you can’t drop. Your To-Do list is never-ending. So there’s no way you can find time for reaching your goal.
I’ve been there, that’s exactly how I felt. I had young kids, I was working full-time, looking after the house, trying to be a good wife. But the one person I completely neglected was me. I didn’t give myself time for self-care and I dismissed my goals as unimportant and pushed them aside.
But then I realised that everybody has the same 24 hours in their day, so how do some people make their goals happen? They spend their time wisely and they make sacrifices because they know that it will be worth it in the end.
3 Simple Ways To Get Back Time To Spend Reaching Your Goal
- Get Up Earlier. Get up and hour earlier than you usually get up and use that time to work on reaching your goal.
- Switch Off The TV. I love binge watching a Netflix series, but I know that I could be using that time to work on my goals. So instead of watching the latest series of Suits, switch off and concentrate on what you can do that will move you towards reaching your goal.
- Use the Pomodoro Technique. I recently discovered this technique and it has made me so much productive! Set your timer for 25 minutes and work solely on one thing during that time. At the end of the 25 minutes take a short break and then start on the next thing for 25 minutes. You’ll be amazed how much you can get done in a day!
Fear Of Failure Is Stopping You From Reaching Your Goal
So you have this great idea, or a yearning to do something that you know you will love, but you’re scared of failing.
I don’t know anybody that isn’t a little bit nervous of failing, especially when it comes to reaching your goals. But if we let that fear control us we’ll never try and therefore never know if we could have done it.
If you give it a try and you fail, get up, learn from your mistakes and try again. Nobody said that you had to do it perfectly first time round (or second or third for that matter). Keep trying and you’ll find success.
Other People’s Opinions Of You Are Stopping You From Reaching Your Goal
This is something that affects so many people, me included. I worried so much about what other people would think of me that it stopped me from doing so many things.
It’s really hard to not let other people’s opinions bother you. I have been crushed by things people have said to me about myself and I have cried a lot of tears. But you know what? I’m still here, still going after my dreams and I want to show you can too.
Other people’s opinions are none of your businessRachel Hollis
When I read this quote by Rachel Hollis it was like the answer I’ve been looking for. If you haven’t read Rachel’s books Girl Wash Your Face and Girl Stop Apologizing, I recommend that you go and read them now! (Click on the links to buy the books)
Yes other people are still going to give me their opinion but they are not going to stop me. You are strong too and you mustn’t let other people’s opinions stop you from reaching your goal.
“Somebody Else Has Already Done It” Is Stopping You Reaching Your Goal
Hun, everything has been done before! Just because one person wrote a book did it stop all the other authors? Of course not! They weren’t put off by the fact that books had already been written, they were inspired by it.
Nobody has walked in your shoes and had your life, which means your way of doing things is going to be unique to you. This is your goal and your dream, go after it in your way and have fun doing it!
No Support Is Stopping You From Reaching Your Goal
Ok, so you get no support from your partner or family. That’s tough I agree, but it shouldn’t stop you from reaching your goal.
Sometimes we need to rely on strangers on the internet for support. You need to find like minded people who will support you and help you through the steps you need to take. I guarantee there are tons of people out there who are also looking for support, you’ve just got to find each other.
Start off by looking for Facebook groups that you can join. Find ones where people are trying to achieve similar things and get sociable. Chat to people in the group, offer your support, and help if possible. Then when you need support they will raise you up and push you forward.
Quite often, when your loved ones can see how much your enjoying reaching your goal they will naturally become more supportive. So don’t be put off if you don’t get that support from them right now. But don’t let it stop you from moving forward.
