Up until our trip to Aulani, we had always stayed in studio rooms at the Disney World resorts. They consist of a queen sized bed, a pull-out sofa bed, kitchenette area and a bathroom. Perfect for our family of four. When we visited Aulani we booked a one bedroom villa as we knew we would be using the room a lot more, so wanted the extra space. On our most recent visit to Walt Disney World we had two extra people with us, so needed even more space. We opted for a two bedroom villa at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Resort.
We are Disney Vacation Club members and have stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge (Kidani Village) several times as it’s our home resort. However, this was the first time we had stayed in such a large room and it wowed us!
The two bedroom villa at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge consists of one bedroom with two queen beds and an ensuite bathroom. A master bedroom with a king size bed and an enormous ensuite bathroom.
The lounge area has a double pull-out sofa bed and a single pull-out sleeper chair. There is a full kitchen with dishwasher, oven and fridge. Additionally, there is a dining area, laundry facilities and a third bathroom.
We always choose a savannah view room because I love to sit on the balcony with my morning coffee. It is so peaceful to watch the animals. We had great views as the balcony for the two bedroom villa at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge stretches the entire width of the accommodation.
The tiles in the master bathroom are themed to the Lion King and the shower is absolutely huge – you could have a party in there!
All of the rooms at Animal Kingdom Lodge are quite dark. This is so that there is minimal disruption to the animals on the savannah.
I think it’s important that I point out that this is in no way a paid or sponsored post. I just wanted to share our thoughts on what it’s like to stay in the bigger rooms at Disney World. We used our Disney Vacation Club points to stay.
We really enjoyed all the room the two bedroom villa at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge gave us. I think we will find it hard to go back to a studio!
