As we get ready to say goodbye to 2017, I’ve been looking back at our travels during the year and looking ahead and thinking about where our 2018 Travel Bucketlist might take us.
I think city breaks are great for getting a sample of the lifestyle and culture of a country and also for a quick recharge of the batteries during the year.
When our children were younger I dreaded the thought of taking them on a plane. I would worry about whether they would be able sit still for a number of hours, or if they would fidget and annoy the passengers around them.
Hawaii is a great place to visit with kids – particularly tweens and teens. The long stretches of golden beaches are the perfect place to spend the day playing in the sun and there are plenty of activities, from surfing to hiking for the more adventurous visitor.
We have wanted to take a cruise for a long time, but certain factors have put us off in the past; the cost has always been an issue, but also we were unsure as to whether it would be a fun trip for the kids.
There is nothing worse than getting off of a long-haul flight only to discover that your luggage has gone missing. From now on I will always pack certain items in our hand luggage, just in case we lose our bags again.
I love to travel and there is so much of the world that I want to see and experience and I want my children to see it too.
A visit to Rome has been on my bucket list for absolutely ages, so when I got the chance to visit I jumped at it!
