I have wanted to visit the Cotswolds, with its pretty villages and gorgeous scenery, for ages so when Mark and I got the opportunity to have a child free weekend I knew exactly where I wanted to go!
I have wanted to visit Cambridge and see the university buildings for absolutely ages, but I knew that the kids wouldn’t be too excited about the prospect of spending a day looking at buildings so I had to come up with a way to make it more fun for them. Our answer? We hired bikes for the day!
As a child I spent most of my school holidays outdoors. We were very lucky that our back garden backed on to woods and we had an orchard and fields a couple of minutes walk away too. My brothers and I would spend our days building dens, making little dams across the streams, swinging on the rope swing in the woods that had been there since my Dad was a child, climbing trees (and falling out of a few!) and roaming around the fields
