Whenever we plan a visit to Walt Disney World one of the things I look forward to most is a day at one of the Disney waterparks. We have so much fun tipping each other out of our tubes on the lazy river or racing each other to the bottom of the slides, only to get out and climb back up to the top and start all over again!

There is an abundance of accommodation options in Orlando – villas, apartments, hotels that are off-site of the main theme parks and hotels that are on-site. We have stayed at an off-site hotel, a villa and at some of the Disney hotels. Our two favourite options are the Disney hotels and villas.

In our opinion Kennedy Space Centre is a ‘must-do’ for anybody visiting Orlando. It doesn’t matter if you’re not that interested in space and the planets, just having the opportunity to see the launchpads and the space rockets is worth the entry ticket if you ask us!

We had visited numerous Disney resorts on previous trips, to have meals at the restaurants, but we had never stayed onsite at Disney before and we weren’t too sure what to expect. From the moment the Magical Express dropped us off at Old Key West I knew we were going to love it!

Hawaii is a great place to visit with kids – particularly tweens and teens. The long stretches of golden beaches are the perfect place to spend the day playing in the sun and there are plenty of activities, from surfing to hiking for the more adventurous visitor.

Top of our list of things to do on Oahu was a visit to Pearl Harbor. Both Mark and I had wanted to visit there for a long time and we like to make sure the kids learn a bit about the history of each place we visit.

I am a huge Jurassic Park fan (except for maybe the 3rd film!) and I have always wanted to see where is was filmed. As soon as we had booked our trip to Hawaii I was on a mission to see if we could visit the location of the films as they were filmed on Oahu.

Less than a 2-hour drive from Orlando is Tropicana Field, home to the Tampa Bay Rays baseball team. It is a huge stadium that looms into view long before you actually reach it – just like Wembley Stadium in London.
