I love to travel and there is so much of the world that I want to see and experience and I want my children to see it too. They have been fortunate to go on some amazing holidays to Walt Disney World and they have been to France and Turkey too, as well as some lovely holidays in the UK, plus a trip to Hawaii and a weekend cruise, but there’s so much more that I want them to see and this is my Wanderlust Wishlist!
Top of my Wanderlust Wishlist is a trip to Barcelona. I have wanted to go there for years. I want to take the children to see the famous La Sagrada Familia and afterwards we can wander down Las Ramblas and eat Patatas Bravas while we people watch. We could enjoy a day on the beach or go and see Camp Nou, home of Barcelona FC. City breaks are such a great way to get a taste of a country and so many of them are accessible from the UK for a weekend break. I was fortunate to be able to visit Rome and Pompeii earlier this year and I would absolutely love to go back with Mark and the kids. Harry would enjoy seeing the Colosseum and Abby would be impressed with the beauty of the Trevi Fountain. In the evening we would sit in one of the piazzas and soak up the atmosphere while feasting on some delicious Italian food. I want to visit Paris again as I haven’t been there for years. It would be great to take the kids up the Eiffel Tower and for a walk along the Seine, before heading to the little square next to Montmartre for a coffee. One city I have always wanted to visit is New York, it would be great to visit the museums, take a walk in Central Park, catch a ferry to see the Statue of Liberty, see a show on Broadway and maybe do a little shopping too!
I am a sun worshipper and there are many places around the world where I would like to soak up a bit of that sun. Many years ago Mark and I visited Jamaica for our honeymoon and I have longed to go back to the Caribbean ever since. Each of the islands has something different to offer and I would like to visit them all, but Antigua really stands out for me. Mexico is also on our Wanderlust Wishlist, with it’s gorgeous beaches and deep Mayan history it offers both relaxation and lots of culture. Crossing over to the other side of the world, a visit to Goa in India looks amazing, as does Thailand.
Being a huge Disney fan means that I would love to visit all of the Disney parks. I would combine a visit to Disneyland in California with a road trip from San Fransisco down to Los Angeles, via Yosemite National Park and enjoying the views from the Pacific Coast Highway along the way. To finish off the trip we would hop on a flight to Las Vegas and spend a few days seeing the sights. After visiting the original Disney park it would be great to see the newest one, Shanghai Disneyland would be on my list too and while we were in that part of the world we could visit Hong Kong Disneyland too – as well as Hong Kong itself. After visiting Hong Kong a short flight would take us across to Japan. I have always found Japan fascinating and it would be wonderful to see it covered in the blossoms that it is so famous for.
Once the heat of the summer has gone the fun needn’t stop as a trip to see Father Christmas is a ‘must-do’ for me and despite my body not coping well with the cold temperatures I fancy having a go at skiing, or maybe it’s just the Apres Ski that I fancy!
There are so many wonderful places to see and I know I’ve forgotten to mention many – did I mention whale watching in Alaska or seeing the Rockies in Canada and Niagra Falls? They’re all on the list too.
Wanderlust is a wonderful thing, what would be on your Wanderlust Wishlist?
